It is a good idea to have your own babysitting kit that you can take with you when babysitting. The kit could include a notebook containging a list of emergency numbers and special instructions give to you by the parents, a first aid kit, kids books, crayons and coloring books, crafts or any other activities you might to use to keep the children occupied. The babysitting kid will make your job easier and impress the parents with your professionalism as well.

A babysitting coop is where parents band together to organize times when they can babysit each others kids free of cost. This is a great idea and can a babysitting coop can be just a casually organized affair between a few parents or a professionally organized babysitting coop of a huge number of people.

It is a good idea to fill out a babysitting form that your babysitter can refert o in case of emergency. A form with the parents name, kids names and ages, residential address and closest intersections, phone numbers of the house and of where the parents can be reached (cell phone numbers preferred), Name and number of closest hopsital, emergency services numbers, poison control number, name of neighbors and phone numbers, names of closest relatives and phone number, any allergies – these will hopefully never be needed but fill in a babysitting form once and it could make the difference of saving a life in a panic situation.

I saw 2 young girls delivering babysitting flyers into letter boxes around my neighborhood the other day. I remember wondering if they would get any responses from just randomly letter box dropping like that. But for me as a parent the best babysitting ad was how delightful these 2 young girls were. They were happy and bouncy and dressed colorfully as well which all seemed to just point towards wanting to hire these kids because they really seemed to enjoy what they were doing and were full of optimism.

Okay you have a scored a great babysitting job but how to keep those kids occupied and happy? Here are some babysitting activities you can try: Hide N seek – don't forget what is old hat for us is still new and exiting for the kids. You can play traditional hide n sekk or hide an object and make it a buried treasure type game – you can even make a treasure map for this one. You can have a type of game where you leave written clues all over the place that lead to the next clue. Stand in front of a mirror and have a crazy face contest – that will bring plenty of laughs. Just use your imagination, even picking up rubbish in the backyard can be made fun by pretending your garbage collectors on the job.

A great babysitting game is animal snap for kids that are of understandable age. It's just like real snap but with a twist. You divide the cards up between you and the child so you both have an equal share. You then select what animal you want to be and then you have to demonstarte the noise the animal makes. So if a do it is woof, woof and if a cat meow, meow and so on. You then take it in turns to turn up a card from your pile but you place it directly in front of you not in the middle as normal snap. When you have turned up a match you have to make the animal noise of the opposing player before they make your animal noise. The first to make the correct animal noise wins the turned up boutny of cards. This is an excellent babysitting game and even more fun when there is a larger number of participants.

An innovative way for you to get more babysitting work is to create your own babysitting flyers. Make them simple but with a nice design advertising your services. Make sure if possible you include some testimonials of satisifed clients who have used you before as this will greatly increase your response rate. Target your babysitting flyer campaign by asking onwers of places where parents with young children frequent to display your flyer. Put tags with your phone number at the bottom of the flyer so parents can tear them off and call you when they get home.
